ADHD: Waiting List For ADHD Diagnosis
A young couple I know are struggling with the same dilemma as thousands, perhaps millions, of people around the world. They are pretty darn sure their child has ADHD but since the pandemic the waiting lists to see a specialist have grown faster than a queue for free Taylor Swift tickets. They’ve grown frustrated and wonder whether it’s even worth getting their child diagnosed since they’ve done a ton of reading and had accepted that this was the case.

I told them, “It is definitely worthwhile. Get on a list. Or several. Then, while you’re waiting, assume your hunch is correct and act accordingly.”
As you’ll see I gave them a number of strategies to start with, most of which they knew about, and I talked about the costs of doing nothing, which was a shock to them. Heck, it was a shock to me. As you’ll see, there are a lot of ways ADHD ruins lives.
