An ADHD Strategy I Cannot Live Without

Rick Green: So I’ve been waiting 45 minutes for the lawnmowers to stop, and they have a chainsaw has started up.

I’m going to finally record this hopefully you can ignore the background noise.

I gave a talk for the Center for Diverse Learners and they handed out little slips of paper so people could write questions, and this one I like.

What is one strategy you can’t live without?

At the time I joked and said my wife Ava, which has a lot of truth to it.

But as I was thinking about it since then I realized the one that works the best for me is starting small, just a little bit, chunking up some big task and starting small.

For example I wanted to record this earlier today much earlier today ,and I kept putting it off and finding other things, and I don’t feel like it, and so on, and finally I said just find the tripod and find the slips of paper, and then I thought well I got those I’ll get my phone set up, and out I came and I’ve recorded it.

Start small.
