Everyone With ADHD is Unique
“You don’t look like someone who has ADHD,” is an annoying but common observation that, unfortunately, fails to take into account a number of key factors. Among them are:
- There are several different subtypes of ADHD.
- There are huge overlaps with other disorders (Depression, Anxiety, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Autism, and more) so most people with ADHD have a second diagnosis.
- ADHD is very situational. Under the right circumstances, we can soar. The wrong situation combined with a lack of support can demolish a person’s efforts, goals, and self-esteem.
