ADHD Is Awesome?

I’ve noticed a growing number of folks claiming that their ADHD is a ‘Super-Power.’

I love the attitude. But I’m concerned that it simplifies a complex disorder. For most of us having ADHD is an ongoing, see-saw battle with victories and setbacks.

People who are struggling with their ADHD may hear it’s a superpower and be disheartened, “Dang, I can’t even do ADHD properly.”

Hi I’m Rick Green, there are so many people making videos and and blogs and Vlogs about their ADHD and I’ve seen a number of people call it their superpower.

And the downside to me is so strong ,the potential downside, the struggles, that it mitigates the superpower, at least for me it’s it’s a balancing act.

You know superpowers are for superheroes, and superheroes only exist in comic books in fiction, and in real life it’s just people coping.

But I do like that attitude that it is a superpower, what it really means is I’ve been getting it under control and especially I’m playing to my strengths. And I think that is the key with ADHD.

I as my own example became a skit comedy writer and performer, not a screenplay writer, not a playwright, short skits worked, that’s my strength.
