Brain Fog
Let’s talk about the 3:00 pm crash, the late afternoon energy slump that has you thinking, “I need a nap.”
This end-of-day energy slump seems to hit folks with ADHD especially hard, leaving us feeling lost and frustrated by brain fog.
I know that I can be zooming along, in the groove, incredibly productive, and then in a matter of minutes, my mental energy evaporates, leaving me scattered and even downcast. It can happen whether I’m writing, doing renovations, or socializing with friends.
What makes this wave of exhaustion a big problem for folks with ADHD is that we may not notice the signals our body is sending. We aren’t aware that we are toast, and so we keep pushing through.
So, what’s to be done about it? It starts with recognizing what’s happening and that it’s completely natural.
