Hi, I’m Rick Green.
I am a comedy writer, actor, director, and producer with over 700 radio and television episodes to my credit. I would have more, but in 2009, my wife and I produced a one-hour documentary about ADHD in adults, co-starring a fellow Red Green Show cast member, Patrick McKenna and his wife, Janis. The documentary ADD & Loving It?! followed Patrick as he went through the diagnostic process to confirm what he had always suspected – he has ADHD. The documentary featured eight top ADHD specialists, many of who have it themselves.
Combining humour, personal experience, and science-based information, ADD & Loving It?! became a hit on PBS, transforming millions of lives. ADHD specialists hailed the program as a game changer for demonstrating that this is a real disorder with a long history and a clear neurological explanation.
As the program continued to air on PBS stations, we were besieged with requests for help and overwhelmed by the gratitude of people who recognized themselves and finally had an explanation for their life-long struggles. We had to continue – knowing that what we were creating was ending suffering and providing hope.
So now we are on a mission to provide knowledge for people who have or suspect they might have Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder and for you to have fun doing it.
I’m out to bust myths, showcase ADHD-friendly solutions, and give you the facts so you can defend your diagnosis from those who dismiss it. And you can tap into the experiences and emotional support of a community of kind, smart, quirky folks like you who have become Patrons. They get it because they have it.
The fact is, undiagnosed and untreated ADHD can and does destroy lives. But as thousands of fellow ADDers can tell you, once you recognize what’s been thwarting your best efforts, there is a wide range of tools and treatments that will allow you to soar.
So, thanks to our Patrons, we continue to produce new videos on every aspect of ADHD, featuring specialists, researchers, advocates, coaches, and authors. (65 and counting.)
