ADHD, Anger, and Fear
The Hidden Connection
Anger is scary. Intimidating. How do you protect yourself? By seeing past the anger and recognizing what’s driving it. And what’s usually triggering anger? What is it meant to hide?
Fear.
Having ADHD can make us hypersensitive. So being subjected to an angry tirade can be especially devastating.
We are stunned into silence. Paralyzed. Unable to think straight.
And that is EXACTLY their goal. To overwhelm you and flood your emotions, so that you can’t recognize their aggression is driven by fear.
But if you can detach, and I explain how, you’ll be able to see their anger for what it is–camouflage to hide a scared human being. Knowing what’s really going on can allow you to can detach, recover your self-control and protect your equanimity.
